WISLaw lunch talk on Football Agents / Intermediaries in London, on March 13, 2018

Join us for a WISLaw Lunch talk hosted by Mischon De Reya LLP in London on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Mischon's Head of Sport and WISLaw co-founding member Liz Ellen is interim Chair of the Society of Football Intermediaries and Agents (SOFIA) and will discuss with Director of Football at Tottenham Rebecca Caplehorn, who manages the transfer deals at the club.

The issue of intermediaries remains a contentious matter, with clubs, leagues and national associations seeming concerned by the activities of intermediaries, but unable to agree on how best to tackle problems arising from a deregulated intermediary industry. In December 2017, the Italian government introduced a regulatory scheme for football agents, which will no doubt cause other nations and national football associations to give more serious consideration to bringing in their own form of regulation.
